Dreaded sect, Boko Haram, has said the 219 schoolgirls it kidnapped in Nigeria on April 14, 2014 year have been converted to Islam and married off.
This is quoting from reports by the French news agency, AFP, which said it obtained the information from a new video by the group on Friday.
The video, shot by Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, also denied the group had entered into a ceasefire agreement with the Federal Government.
Shekau disowned Danladi Adamu, the man who claimed to be the secretary of Boko Haram, who was reported to have negotiated the ceasefire deal with the Federal Government.
Shekau said the group was no longer interested in prisoners swap with the government for peace to reign, adding that the kidnapped Chibok girls would never be seen again as they had been married off.
He was quoted by the AFP as saying in the video: “We don’t know that impostor called Danladi Adamu.
“We have never authorised him or his like to speak on our behalf because in this war, there is no going back.
“The issue of the girls is long forgotten because I have long married them off.”
The video, as usual, was reported to have been produced in Hausa.
