The National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, has said that there was little or nothing the Federal Government could do to stop the dreaded insurgents, Boko Haram, from using the abducted Chibok girls as bombers.
The NSA was reacting to questions on the allegation that the Chibok girls could be behind the recent bombings in the North West part of the country.
The bombings of the Mega Station of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the one close to Shoprite Shopping Mall, and the last one at the Kano State Polytechnic, all in Kano city, Kano State, were carried out by young female bombers.
Also, two females, including a 10-year-old, were arrested in Funtua, Katsina State with explosives, fuelling speculations that the bombers could actually be the abducted Chibok girls.
But, Dasuki insisted there was nothing government could do to stop their abductors from using them to wreck more havoc since they are not under the control of the government.
His words: “What really can anybody do?
“The Chibok girls who are in captivity are not under government Control.
“The only thing we do is try and address those who are outside who will have contact with them.
“If they are released today, we have a programme we put them through to make sure that if there is any indoctrination, we try at least to reduce the intensity, if we don’t end it completely.
“That is all we can do before they go back into normal life.”
