Suspected bombers on Sunday detonated two explosives in Gombe metropolis of Gombe State.
One person was reportedly killed, while scores were injured as suspected suicide bombers hit the Gombe metropolis on Sunday afternoon in two separate incidents.
Sources said the first occurred around 2:30pm when two suspected suicide bombers ran out of luck while riding a motorcycle along Old Market Junction opposite the Post Office in Gombe.
An eyewitness said the suicide bombers were together with a lady on a motorcycle when the incident happened.
The eyewitness however said it could not be ascertained where the suicide bombers were headed for.
Speaking further, the source said after the blast, a mob around the area set on fire the other suicide bomber who survived the explosion.
The source said the second explosion took place close to the military quarter guard around the barracks in the metropolis but added that he could not ascertain the level of casualties in the area.
It was alleged that the bomber might have targeted the military quarter guard before the bomb exploded.
The Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Fwaje Atajiri, confirmed the development.
