Three persons were reported to have died as members of the Ogun State Vigilance Group on Saturday rescued Muiba, the kidnapped wife of the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salaam.
The three men, who were killed by men of the vigilance services, belonged to the group that kidnapped Muiba from her husband’s hometown in Ejigbo, Osun State on Tuesday.
Three other members of the gang were arrested by the members of the vigilance group.
Muiba was rescued from the kidnappers’ den in Ogunsakin area of Ogun State, off the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The operation that led to the rescue of Muiba was said to have been carried out by the vigilance group, established by the Ogun State Government, at about 5:30pm on Saturday.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the development.
Muiba is said to be in a stable condition.
Her kidnap had thrown the Osun State House of Assembly into confusion.
Both members of the House and staff of the Assembly were reported to have been uncomfortable with the development, which dominated discussion in the House for the better part of last week.
