The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has urged Federal Government to conduct thorough forensic investigation on the way recent terror attacks were launched serially unabated on innocent citizens.
The organisation made the call following recent bomb blasts and suicide attacks at different places of worship in Borno, Yobe and Plateau States.
A statement signed by JNI Secretary-General, Dr. Khalid Abubakar, made available on Monday in Kaduna, expressed shock over the killings, saying: “The attacks are barbaric and utterly condemnable.
“The sad aspect of the attacks is that they are perpetrated in the revered month of Ramadan.
“It is hardly believable that such dastardly acts could occur now, considering several frantic efforts to curb the menace by the Federal Government, thus JNI is seriously perturbed.
“The attacks are evil, ungodly and have no bases in Islam and those perpetrating it are criminals, and thus must be fished out and punished accordingly.”
The organisation then appealed to relevant stakeholders to be proactive in addressing the scourge, stressing, however, that forensic investigation might provide a clue to the problem.
It commiserated with the people and governments of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Plateau and Zamfara States and the respective families of the affected victims of the evil acts and condoled with them over the irreparable lost.
It added: “JNI prays that Almighty Allah (SWT) will grant the deceased eternal bliss and those that sustained injuries quick recovery.”
The JNI urged Muslims to intensify prayers against all manners of terrorists’ acts and for the restoration of peace and security in Nigeria, bearing in mind that without Nigeria, there would be no Nigerians.
“We must remain steadfast and must not be deterred from attending our respective places of worship,” the organisation added.
