Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Friday announced the appointment of Malam Imam Imam as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs.
The announcement was contained in a statement personally signed by Tambuwal and issued in Sokoto.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Imam was Tambuwal’s media adviser while he was the Speaker, House of Representatives until a few days ago.
In the statement, Tambuwal admonished Imam to rededicate himself to his new assignment by contributing positively to information management in the state.
Imam, a former Group Politics Editor at THISDAY Newspapers, was born on July 16, 1977 in Gboko, Benue State, but hails from Taraba State.
He holds a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communications from Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna and a Post Graduate diploma in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano.
Imam is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Nigerian Union of Journalists and Nigerian Institute of Management.
