Oba Ogunwusi announced this while addressing angry youths who thronged to his palace in Ile-Ife on Monday.
Oba Adeyeye said this in Ile-Ife, Osun State during the celebration of the 2024 edition of the Oodua Festival.
The monarch made the visit, in commemoration of his 8th year Anniversary on the throne.
The Oonirisa disclosed this on Saturday during the press conference he addressed in his palace in Ile-Ife.
In his reaction to the letter of invitation, His Imperial Majesty expressed his great delight in endorsing the maiden edition of the event. In his words, “I write with great delight to endorse the inaugural The Drum (Ayan-Agalu) Festival scheduled to hold in Canada”. Oba Ogunwusi asserted that “the festival, which has its root in the Kingdom of Ife, South Western Nigeria, is a symbolic presentation of our culture, particularly in relation to our social life, religion, monarchy and other core aspects of our existence”, the affable monarch stated.
Announcing the second edition in Lagos, Korede Demola-Adeniyi, Head, Consumer Banking, said the exhibition is part of the bank’s contribution to boost the nation’s tourism, culture and the creative industry using Adire as a key driver, adding that high profile exhibitors, vendors, dignitaries from different parts of the world have indicated interest to be part of the event.

The royal father spoke during a three-day Adire exhibition tagged: “Adire Lagos Experience”, powered by Ecobank Nigeria in Lagos. The exhibition which started on Friday June 10, spanned Sunday, June 12.
