Akpabio is reportedly said to have made the comment on Wednesday in Abuja while receiving the interim report of the commission from the forensic auditors.
This was just as the upper chamber approved a recommendation by the Senate and House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta for an extension of the budget implementation timeline to March 31, 2021.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, announced this in a statement on Saturday
“With gratitude to God for a most remarkable and worthy life, The Ndoma-Egba and Onono families of Cross River and Anambra States respectively, announce the transition to eternal glory of our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and friend. Mrs. Amaka Lauretta Ndoma-Egba (Nee Onono) died on 19th November, 2020 at the age of 54,” the statement issued on behalf of the family by Prof. Rowland Ndoma-Egba reads.
The NDDC Acting Managing Director, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, while handing over the additional tools, including 10 Hilux vehicles and five buses, to the auditors at the new permanent headquarters of the Commission in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, stressed that the forensic audit was not meant to witch-hunt any individual or group.
Among others, the FOI request included the publication of the budgetary appropriations made by the National Assembly to the Niger Delta Development Commission from 2010 to 2020 and the names and designation of members of the National Assembly who have been awarded contracts by the NDDC or who have otherwise benefitted in any manner howsoever from the budgetary funds of the Commission from 2010 to 2020.

The meeting, which held in the office of Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, the Committee Chairman, at the National Assembly Complex, began at about 3:30pm and ended at about 7pm.
