Mark Hughes says he is looking forward to working with his latest acquisition, Victor Moses, after capturing the signature of the highly-regarded Chelsea forward on a season-long loan.
The powerful Nigerian international is in the frame to make his Stoke City debut against Europa League side, Hull City, this Sunday after putting pen-to-paper on a temporary agreement last weekend.
Moses rose to prominence during an explosive start to his career at Crystal Palace, before his form in the top-flight for Wigan Athletic prompted Chelsea to fork out £9 million for his services just two years ago.
Despite netting 10 times during his one and only full campaign at Stamford Bridge, the 23-year old was allowed to join Liverpool on loan last term where he struggled to make a major impact.
“Victor is a really good player – I think that goes without saying,” Hughes told Stoke City Player.
“He is incredibly powerful, he has really good pace too and he can cause a lot of problems to the opposition.
“We are really pleased that he is here with us, because like a few of the other lads we have in the squad he is able to come up with something a little bit different.
“Sometimes when a game is tight you just need an individual to change the game for you, and Victor has the qualities to be able to do that.
“We have a number of those players here at the Club now, and that is why I am happy with the make-up of the squad.
“You need players who are able to do something off their own back, which will hopefully enable us to take the game away from teams.”
