Senator Dino Melaye on Saturday said Senator Smart Adeyemi has only joined the All Progressives Congress spiritually and not physically.
Adeyemi had on Friday joined the APC at a ceremonial function in Abuja in company with Senators Abu Ibrahim and Olubunmi Adetunmbi among others.
He said he had no regret dumping his party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
But Melaye, who is representing Kogi West senatorial District, on his Twitter handle said the former senator was yet to send notification of intention to join the party to the state chairman, local government chairman and his ward chairman in Kogi State.
Melaye said: “Smart Adeyemi joined APC spiritually but yet to join physically.
“State Chairman, LG Chairman and ward chairman yet to see or get notification.
“No national, state, LG or ward party exco present in the Abuja home made defection.
“Where is your membership card?
“If all politics are local why Abuja?
“We are ready for politics of inclusion but when Smart Adeyemi is ready, he should come home.
“After eight years of representing Kogi West in National Assembly. Don’t be afraid of your own people. Brother Smart you hear?”
