Dream Team VI handler, Samson Siasia, has expressed total disappointment in the Nigeria Football Federation following poor concern shown his team in their build up to the CAF U-23 Cup of Nation in Senegal.
Speaking on Channels TV programme monitored in Lagos, Siasia was livid at the attitude of the football house, saying the Dream Team deserves better treatment than being ignored towards a major tournament.
His words: “I wonder why the NFF chose to do this to us. We are not orphans and I wonder why they are treating us like one.
“The NFF has refused to pay our match bonuses. Most of the players wash and wear their kits due to the NFF’s attitude. We can’t continue this way if we want to qualify for next year’s Olympics.”
The 1994 AFCON gold medalist however urged the Nigeria Football Federation to treat all national teams equally, saying they dare not dish such poor treatment to the Super Eagles.
Siasia said: “NFF has been unfair with lesser teams. They pay serious attention to the Super Eagles which is not ideal. At the end of it all, the coaches would be responsible for failing to impress at major tourneys.”
Nigeria are drawn alongside Mali, Algeria and Egypt in Group B of the tournament slated to kick off onNovember 28.
Four years ago, Nigeria failed in Morocco to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
