The Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has visited victims of Friday’s Arba’een symbolic trek bomb attack at Dakasoye village, Kano State.
This was just as the leader of the Islamic movement attacked by the terrorist who detonated an Improvised Explosive Device, Sheikh Ibrahim El Zakzay, said his group will not relent until evil doers were overcome.
Ganduja and his entourage were at Nassarawa and Murtala Muhammad hospitals to commiserate with those injured.
Speaking to newsmen, Dr. Ganduje said: “We are interacting with the Shi’ites here in Kano and the remaining parts of country.
“We know their faith, their religious fortitude and unparallel good attitudes towards religious matters.
“We will not hold them responsible for this fatal and unfortunate incident.
“They were really attacked by enemies of Islam and humanity.”
Ganduje further described the incident as very unfortunate and handiwork of enemies of Islam and therefore used the occasion to condole Zakzaky, the Leader of the Islamic Movement; the Ameer of Kano zone, Sheikh Muhammad Mahmud Turi; and the entire brothers and sisters in the fold of the movement.
He called on the Sheikh Zakzaky his followers and the entire people of the country to continue to pray to God to prevent future occurrence.
Governor Ganduje also prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the blasts.
He pledged the Kano State Government’s support to those who sustained injuries.
Turi, who spoke on behalf of Zakzaky, said: “What befell us along our way Friday is an event that will not surprise us, either the other public figures.
“Taking a birds eye view from what is happening in the midst of dynamic Shi’a Muslims World, is enough for those with sound reasoning.
“The so-called sovereign powers of the world had pledged to conquer Muslims and Muslims countries across the World.
“We will ever not retreat nor deem any doubt on our religious doctrines, talk less of surrender.
“We strongly believed that is an act of arrogant countries, which is instrumentally executec by their stooges.
“It is really an act out of faith and Islamic teachings.”
On whether the suicide bomber was apprehended or not, Turi said: “This is out of my knowledge whether he was apprehended or not.”
When asked on number of dead, Turi said: “Right now about 21 (22 presently) victims were confirmed dead (martyred) and many sustained fatal injuries and they are all on admission in Nasarawa and Murtala Muhammad hospitals in Kano.”
In a message to the masses regarding the trek, Sheik Turi said: “We are in thorough investigation now.
“So, I cannot categorically say anything right now.
“But my few words to the perpetrators of all these brutal acts is that we will ever not retreat nor surrender as they will not surrender or desists from their irrational sentiments and hostility.
“They should not retreat.
“By God’s will, Islam and Muslims will eventually have the upper hand.
“This is destiny to the right path and to whoever holds fast to this right path.”
