A former Governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, on Thursday slammed the Senate for putting President Goodluck Jonathan above national interest.
Saraki, however said despite the anomaly, some of the senators were denied return tickets to the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.
Saraki, who tweeted this on his Twitter handle, is also a serving senator.
He defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress when five aggrieved PDP governors left the party to join the APC.
Jonathan was elected on the platform of the PDP.
Saraki said on his Twitter handle: “Hope Senators coming in 8th Assembly will learn from what is happening in 7th assembly, Senators put GEJ above nation now no return ticket.”
A few minutes later, Saraki tweeted: “The report on #FuelSubsidy is another example of how the 7th Assembly, fell short of our mandate to Nigerians.”
Still on Thursday, Saraki wrote on his Twitter handle: “I believe the 7th Assembly (myself included) could have done a better job, if we had been a bit firmer & tougher on our oversight functions.”
