Popular Yoruba actor cum politician, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, has finally hooked his heartthrob, Oyebanke Oyelami, the current Miss Osun State.
The high profile wedding, which kicked off with a traditional wedding on Friday at the bride’s compound in Iragbiji, Osun State, continued on Saturday with the exchange of marital vows.
The registry session took place at Boripe Local Government Area in Iragbiji, Osun State.
This was before the party train moved to Mic Com Golf Club in Ada, Osun State.
The reception was well attended by the big wigs of the society, ranging from Nollywood stars to eminent politicians, royal fathers, while several biggies with different sizes, colours and shapes were also not left out in the shindig.
Afro Juju creator, Sir Shina Peters, added fun and razzmatazz with his juju music as the couple were seen beaming with smiles all through the reception session, an indication that they had a fulfilled day on their special day.
The bride, Oyebanke, in her words, said: “This is my happiest moment in life but quite unfortunate that my mum is not alive today to witness my day.
“All the same, I’m still happy and fulfilled with a man God has given me as husband.”
Makinde also expressed his joy.
While speaking exclusively with The Eagle Online, the Mayegun of Ile-Ife said: “Oyebanke is the best thing that has ever happened to my life.
“Apart from being good lady, she is a great and beautiful human being born on Osun Osogbo festival day and she is currently Miss Osun.
“In fact, to crown it all, I’ve chosen a good wife, a trusted partner and she has replaced my late mother.”
Eminent personalities at the wedding included Senator Bunmi Daramola, Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, Hon. Babaginda Ibrahim, Rotimi Akinfemiwa Aberuagba, Hon. Umar Katsayal and Hon. Tom. Zakari.
Others included Antar Laniyan, Ireti Osayemi and hubby, Bakky, Pappy Luwe, Jinadu Ewele, Saheed Balogun, MC Abbey and Foluke Daramola.
A night party at GT Hall in Ile-Ife, Osun State climaxed the wedding ceremony.
Abass Akande Obesere was on the band stand, thrilling the guests with his Asakasa music as at press time.
Interstingly, those who could not attend either the registry or reception ceremony stormed the all night party in Ile-Ife to show love to Makinde and his wife.
