The police spokesman said that the security agencies would ensure the smooth conduct of the re-run election in the constituency.
Mancha said: “We are on ground to protect lives and property during and after the elections and whoever is found wanting will face the full wrath of the law.”
He warned citizens against taking the laws in to their hands, saying police would not condone act that would threaten the existing peace.
An eyewitness, James Ankpa-Yunusa, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the suspects were arrested while shooting into the air to scare people.
Ankpa-Yunusa said: “The suspects, armed with Ak 47, first tried to snatch election materials but voters resisted them.”
He said seven Ak47 were recovered from the vehicle they parked across the road.
