The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three domestic workers for allegedly stealing their boss’s N15 million.
The suspects – Wisdom Chilekwe, Blessing Obat and Lawrence Essien – were said to have been arrested while running away with the money.
The incident occurred on April 28 at 94B, Carlton Gate Estate, Chevron Drive, Lekki, Lagos.
The employer was said to have brought the money home for an important transaction the following day.
Two among the servants, the chef and house help, allegedly stole the bag containing the money from where it was kept.
The employer’s driver, Essien, caught the two servants’ right in the act.
But rather than spill the bean to his master, he kept mum after they gave him N6.5 million.
Essien was said to have sent N200,000 to his wife in Akwa Ibom State to make preparations for his arrival.
On his way to Akwa Ibom State with the balance of the money, he was arrested.
The money recovered so far from the suspects is N15 million.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said: “Investigation is ongoing.
“The suspects would be prosecuted.”
