The Bayelsa State Police Command has detained the two Nigerians – Comrade Sunny Ofehe and Femi Soewu – who were abducted by militants alongside three Dutch nationals.
Also detained by the police is the Chairman of Dodo River Rural Development Association, Berry Negerese, and one other community youth.
They were interrogated and detained over the abduction incident at Letugbene waterfront in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The interrogation, which culminated into taking of statement by the police, started around 6pm and lasted till 9:30pm when they were taken away to be detained on the order of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Bureau.
Meanwhile, the other three Dutch nationals – Erhard Leffers, Marianne Vos and Jan Andre Groenendijk – are still being held by the gunmen who abducted them.
