The Benue State Police Command said a businessman, Ronald Mnyim, had been abducted by suspected kidnappers in Katsina-Ala on Sunday at about 8.30pm.
Confirming this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Makurdi, the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP John Bako, said seven gunmen abducted the businessman at a relaxation joint in Katsina-Ala.
Bako said Mnyim was relaxing with friends when the hoodlums struck and abducted him.
He said no ransom had been demanded by the kidnappers and appealed to the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.
NAN reports that Mnyim runs petrol stations in Katsina-Ala and Makurdi.
