The Plateau State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Da Jonah David Jang, has described the death of Senator John Wash Pam as a loss not only to his family, associates and Plateau State but to the nation as a whole.
Wash Pam, who served the country as the Deputy President of the Senate in the Second Republic, was described by Governor Jang as one of the greatest democrats the state and the has nation produced.
In a statement by his Director of Press and Publications, James Mannok, the governor was quoted as noting that Wash Pam’s contribution to democracy was unparalleled and as a great parliamentarian during the Second Republic, he left an indelible mark in his efforts at promoting democratic rule in Nigeria.
The governor also described the death of the first civilian Governor of Kwara State, Adamu Attah, as another sad event in the life of the nation.
He said the late Attah will be greatly missed as the forerunner of the Kwara State administration and added that his legacy will stand the test of time.
Jang added that Kogi and Kwara States have indeed lost an illustrious son and a pillar of democracy.
