A governorship aspirant in Plateau State on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, Alhaji Sabiu Ibrahim Musa, has expressed his zeal to fight poverty if elected the next governor of the state.
Musa, who stated this at his party’s campaign office on Wednesday at Enugu Road, Jos, the Plateau State capital, said he is willing to positively promote the tenets of democracy in the state.
He said the party has commenced the screening of aspirants vying for various positions in compliance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The gubernatorial aspirant explained that the party is not interested in the zoning formula but will give emphasis to any credible candidate that can deliver the dividends of democracy.
According to him, the ADC will field candidates for all the positions in the state and we don’t have much problem with the contestants, adding: “What we are after is for people to come and register and obtain their voters card.:
Hon. Sani Abdul, who is an aspirant for the state House of Assembly, Jos North-West, expressed satisfaction with the level of transparency shown by the supporters of the party.
Abdul pointed out that youth empowerment and job creation is one of the topmost priority that will be followed with vigour in his electioneering campaign.
Abdul promised transparency, accountability to the people of his constituents and also to upgrade the living standard of the people.
Abdul also lamented the high rate of unemployment and impunity in the country but described its as lack of good governance and jobless youths roaming the streets doing nothing.
Also, an aspirant for Jos North Plateau State House of Assembly, Mallam Mua’azu Sani Salisu, said: “My first priority will be to education and providing job opportunities, especially to the teeming youth and women empowerment.”
