A 2015 gubernatorial aspirant in Plateau State and former Nigerian Ambassador to Kenya, Fedelis Tapgun, has called on his supporters to shun political violence and abusive languages.
Ambassador Tapgun had served Plateau State as a governor for one year and eight months before his administration was truncated by the military.
He told his political associates and supporters to work as a team and mobilize the grass roots in the 17 local government areas of the state.
Addressing them during the formal inauguration of the grassroot moblizers in Jos, Plateau State on Thursday, Tapgun advised his supporters not to fight or use abusive languages in the cause of their electioneering.
He said everyone is equal before God so nobody can exist without the support of the other.
He said the principle of zoning an rotation were to ensure fair play, justice and togetherness, stressing that the southern zone of the state stands a better chance of producing the next governor of the state.
He said the immediate past Governor of the state, Joshua Dariye, was from the central zone, while the outgoing Governor, Jonah Jang, is from the northern zone.
Tapgun emphasized that the best way to ensure togetherness is for the party to show that understanding by zoning the 2015 governorship to the southern senatorial zone.
He told his supporters that as one of the founding fathers of the Peoples democratic Party he has no faith in any other political party.
He urged the public to discard the insinuation that he has left PDP.
Earlier, his Campaign Director, Ambassador Ibrahim Kasai, said they had already met with the elders community and religious leaders in advancing the actualization of the 2015 governorship election.
Kasai said Plateau State has a lot of potentials that previous administrations have not properly harnessed.
