Ahead of the forthcoming primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, will on Tuesday hold a crucial meeting with the governors elected on the platform of the party.
The meeting is a continuation of the one held last week at the residence of the National Chairman of the party in Abuja.
It was reliably gathered that the meeting, apart from the forthcoming party primaries, may likely deliberate on the issue of adoption of candidates by the governors.
Another item that may feature on the agenda of the meeting is the hiccup arising from the sale of nomination forms by the state chapters of the PDP, which has culminated in petitions by some aspirants to the PDP national leadership.
The National Secretariat, it would be recalled, had few days ago decentralised the sales of nomination and Expression of Interest forms to state chapters.
Some state chapters of the PDP, findings showed, are reportedly making it difficult for some aspirants considered not to be in their good books obtaining the forms.
Some of the governors who have their eyes on the Senate in the next political dispensation are said to be canvassing for automatic tickets, pointing out that it formed one of the basis for which they endorsed the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, as the sole candidate at the PDP Governors’ Forum.
