The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, has approved the appointment of Prince Abimbola Adegboyega Ogunwusi as the Sooko Laekun of Ile Ife.
The holder of the title is the coordinator of princes and default representative of the Ooni.
The office became vacant with the demise of Prince Dapo Sijuwade.
In ancient times, the Sooko Laekun was like the Aremo of Oyo.
The new Sooko, an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, is a top business man with interests in diverse sectors, among which are property, construction, farming and mining.
Sooko Ogunwusi will be installed on October 8, 2016 at the Afin Adimula in Ile Ife at 10am.
