The Olubadan-in-Council on Wednesday suspended the Onido of Ido, Chief Tajudeen Agura, following a petition written against him.
The council ordered Agura to stop parading himself as the Baale of Ido pending the completion of investigation into the petition.
Addressing newsmen after a closed door meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, said the suspension took effect from Wednesday.
“Agura ceases to be the Baale of Onido until the council decides otherwise,” Ajibola said.
Ajibola also told newsmen that the council would hold a thanksgiving service for the successful installation of the Olubadan.
He said prayers would be held at the Central Mosque, Oja Oba, Ibadan between 12noon and 2pm on April 8.
He said a Church service would be held on April 10 at the Cathedral Church of St. David, Kudeti, Ibadan.
According to Ajibola, the thanksgiving services would offer opportunities for clerics and religious leaders from different denominations to pray for Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and their leaders.
