Embattled Super Eagles handler, Sunday Oliseh, has landed himself in fresh troubles as he is accused of causing disaffection in the national team’s camp at the just ended African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
A competent camp source accused the coach of isolating some his assistants from his training and match plans, saying the coach preferred to speak in French language with his German assistant, Jean Francois Losciuto.
This development was said to have caused a lot of disaffection in camp as the other local coaches were not in tune with their boss’s plans before and during the competition.
It also learnt that Oliseh wrote all his match notes in French, making it difficult for others in camp to read and know the team’s mistakes and plans for the next games in Rwanda.
Though, our source declined from mentioning names, but he hinted that the list of former national team players that want to replace Oliseh as Super Eagles’ handler keeps growing after the team failed to qualify for the knockout stages at the CHAN tournament.
Meanwhile, the Sport Writers’ Association of Nigeria in a statement by signed by its Secretary General, Andrew Abah, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the coach to make public the names of some of its members that requested for money to write favourable reports and those that are acting as agents, requesting that he invites certain players to camp so that they can do business with them.
The statement reads: “The Leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria in its quest to ensure continuous sanity in the profession, and for the purpose of change mantra which is gradually revolving round every aspect of the economy, is requesting that the Head Coach names those journalists that approached him within the next seven days.
“This has become imperative considering the recent bashing the Sports Writers have been receiving from the NFF and its employees. It would be called that the NFF President only recently at the National Assembly took a swipe on the Sports Writers for being the brain behind their inabilities to secure sponsors for the Federation.
“Henceforth, SWAN would no longer fold its arms and watch people blame their misfortune on the association. We have, as major stakeholders, and would no longer tolerate people dragging SWAN in their maladministration and technical ineptitude.”
