Ndigbo Unity Forum, an Igbo socio-economic group, on Wednesday decried the poor attitude of South East governors to mass unemployment in the zone.
The President of the group, Comrade Augustine Chukwudum, made the observation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu.
Chukwudum said the governors were yet to make concerted efforts to tackle the problem of joblessness in the zone.
NAN recalls that the zone was recently bedeviled with protests by unemployed youths agitating to have relevance in the country.
Chukwudum said: “The NUF observed that South East governors are yet to take the case of unemployment in the region seriously.
“The massive joblessness, especially involving youths, can be said to be a time-bomb waiting to explode anytime if there is no plan to gradually address the issue.
“NUF, therefore, calls on South East governors to come together and proffer solution to the problem of unemployment in the region.”
Chukwudum advised Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State to provide free education that he promised during his campaign in the last gubernatorial election.
:Governor Obiano should fulfill one of his major campaign promises by providing free education to students in Anambra State,” he added.
