The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Commission on Wednesday
arrested a 34-year-old man, Mohammed Ahmed, for allegedly raping his
14 year-old daughter.
The Head of Public Relations of the NSCDC in Osun State, Wale Folarin,
made this known to the newsmen in Osogbo.
Folarin said the incident was reported to the commission by one of the
Ahmed’s neighbours.
The neighbour reported to NSCDC that he had always been hearing the
screaming of the girl every night, Folarin said.
Folarin said the screams made the neighbour to inquire from the girl
what had been happening to her.
He said the little girl confessed to the neighbour that her father
used to rape her.
This prompted the neighbour to report the matter to NSCDC.
The News Agency of Nigeria gathered that the alleged incest had been
happening since April before the suspect was apprehended by the NSCDC.
The girl and her nine-year-old younger sister were said to have been
living with their father in a single room apartment.
While speaking with newsmen, the suspect said he did not know what
came over him to be having sex with his daughter.
Ahmed said: “I have been having sex with my daughter since April and
anytime I am having sex with her I don’t see anything wrong in it.”
He stated that he had sex with his daughter up to six times since April.
