The Nigeria Football Federation factional congress has annulled the election of Ambassador Chris Giwa as the new president of the body.
The delegates, who stormed out of Chida Hotels, Abuja on Tuesday in protest of the arrest of Alhaji Aminu Maigari, Barrister Chris Green and Musa Amadu, tagged the election that produced Giwa as president with 27 votes against two for Chief Mike Umeh as “kangaroo”.
To this end, the Congress approved the dissolution of Amoni Biambo-led Electoral Committee and Election Appeals Committee and consequently set up new ones.
The new Electoral Committee members are: Sampson Ebomhe, M.T Ahmed, Olumide Oluyemi, Adamu Sani Osmond, Sadiq Yusuf Zaria, Chimdi Ojiohu, Onyeghala Obioma, Adeola Adelawu, Sani Dahiru Yakasai and Musa Amadu as Secretary.
To serve on the Election Appeals Committee are: Okey Ajunwa, Dotun Coker and Sani Mohammed, while Dr. Mohammed Sanusi will serve as Secretary.
The Congress formally dissolved the NFF Board, just as it set up a three-man committee to man the Secretariat alongside General Secretary, Musa Amadu.
The appointed persons are: Ephraim Chukwuemeka, Abia State FA chairman; Abubakar Ladan, Kebbi State FA chairman; and Isaac Ayodele, Ekiti State FA chairman.
The Congress has however slated the elections for September 4 in Calabar, Cross River State.
