In order to get the representative of Borno South Senatorial District, Ali Ndume, who was suspended for six months on Wednesday back into the Red Chamber, a high powered delegation from Borno State has visited the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the Leader of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan.
The delegation, according to informed sources, visited Saraki in his Abuja home on Thursday night.
The team, led by the Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, was said to have arrived Saraki’s home at about 9:30pm.
On the team led by Shettima were the other two Senators from Borno State – Baba Kaka Garbai from Borno Central Senatorial District and Abubakar Kyari of Borno North Senatorial District; two members of the House of Representatives from Borno State; representatives of Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn-Garbai, and Emir of Dikwa, Muhammad Masta Ibn El Kanemi; Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen and Councilors from Borno State.
The delegation was said to have spent about 40 minutes with Saraki, who promised to take another look at the issue.
The same delegation also visited Lawan over the issue, it was learnt.
