The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has expressed its willingness to partner the Nigerien and Pakistan Hajj Missions to improve the quality and management of Hajj affairs in Nigeria.
The Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday by the Chief Information Officer of the Commission, Malam Musa Ubandawaki.
Mohammed made the pledge during a working visit to the two organisations in Mecca.
He said that a collaborative effort between the two countries Hajj affairs managers would help to improve hajj services and forge the spirit of brotherhood among the Muslims.
The chairman expressed NAHCON commitment to strengthen the relationship between the various hajj missions with a view to learn more from one another and render help where necessary.
Mohammed said: “This collaboration will not only enhance improve services to the pilgrims but also uplift the management of Hajj affairs.
“We have chosen this path of consultation and collaboration with our brother Hajj missions to learn and share our experiences, so that together we can improve on Hajj services.”
Mohammed said that the visit would open a new chapter in broadening the mutual friendship and spirit of brotherhood between NAHCON and the countries involved.
The NAHCON boss expressed appreciation to the ambassadors of the two countries for the brotherly love and support extended to him.
He called for a strategic partnership to explore economic benefit derivable from Hajj to grow the two countries economy in the exports of local food items and condiments to Saudi Arabia.
Responding, the Head of the Nigerien Hajj Mission, Alhaji Garba Bello, said both nations shared ethnic, linguistic, cultural and religious affinity and were therefore bound to cooperate and assist each other.
Similarly, the Director-General of the Pakistani Hajj Mission, Dr. Sajid Yousafari, expressed appreciation for the visit and pledged to offer the mission’s assistance to NAHCON in the area of ICT development and deployment.
