Some filling stations operating on the outskirts of Abuja, including Suleja in Niger State, are yet to comply with the N87 petrol pump price, a week after price reduction.
A News Agency of Nigeria check revealed that most stations on Zuba-Gwagwalda Road and other interior places in the Federal Capital Territory were yet to comply.
The stations include Alhaji Abdulkadir and Sons Limited, Maje and Zamson Global Resources, near Maje, Suleja.
Others are MRS Maje Road, which meters show N87 and N91, and AITON Investment, besides First Bank in Suleja, selling at N87 per litre to vehicles and N100 per litre in jerry-cans.
Some motorists also complained of irregularity of meters at various stations.
Ayanfe Akintola, who claimed he bought fuel at a station in Alli Brothers ,Zone 1 Wuse, alleged being cheated by the station.
According to Akintola, the station is under dispensing to customers.
Akintola alleged that most operators used the opportunity to adjust their meters, thereby under dispensing product to customer.
He said though their meters displayed N87 on the machine, the quantity of fuel dispensed was always less than the expected quantity.
John Osador, a civil servant, said he was short changed by a station in Utako area of Abuja.
Osador said what was sold to him was not commensurate with what he paid for.
The Department of Petroleum Resources on Friday said success story was recorded within Abuja on the compliance with the directive on the reduction issued on January 18.
The DPR’s spokesman, Seidu Mohammed, told NAN that the department could not rule out the possibility of non compliance by some stations.
Mohammed said the department would ensure total compliance by all stations.
Mohammed warned that any station that refused to comply with the directive would be sanctioned.
He urged members of the public to report any station that do not comply with the directive or short change them in any form to DPR.
NAN recalled that 14 pumps were sealed from six filling stations last week by the Department of Weigh and Measure, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, for under-dispensing petrol to motorists in Abuja.
