Boxing legend, Muhammad Ali, was hospitalized at the weekend with pneumonia.
And a source has exclusively told RadarOnline.com: “We’re praying for the champ.”
Ali, 72, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, “stopped breathing” on Friday night, according to our source, and family members “called 911. He was revived by the paramedics and is in ICU with fluid on the lungs. He is on a respirator and IV’s.”
The source told Radar that Ali’s daughters, Laila and Hana, immediately flew to Phoenix, Arizona, United States of America to be by his side.
On Saturday, the former boxer’s spokesman, Bob Gunnell, announced he had pneumonia and “is being treated by his team of doctors and is in stable condition.”
But the source said every health setback could be dire for the beloved American icon: “His entire family is hoping he makes it to his 73rd Birthday on January 17.”
As Radar has previously reported, Ali is doing his best to fight the crippling effects of his decades-long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
But “his health has been declining rapidly this past year” and he has lost his ability to speak, a pal recently revealed.
The source said Ali’s wife, Lonnie, is expected to update fans soon about his condition.
