Suzan Ajenge, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps in Niger State, said on Friday that three persons died in a road accident in Kanpani Dorawa, Paiko Local Government Area of Niger on Thursday.
She told the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna that the accident involved two vehicles traveling from Suleja to Minna.
She said drivers of the vehicles lost control due to speeding, killing a woman, her son and one other passenger.
Ajenge explained that a Sharon space bus, with registration number GWA 544 TN conveying three passengers and a Carina car with registration number BB 173 AKD conveying three passengers, lost control, leading to a head-on collision and the death of the three persons.
She said that the rescue team of the command recovered N220, 570 from the victims.
Ajenge said: “We contacted a member of the family of a passenger by name Ogagona Michael of Usoro North Local Government Area of Delta State and will release all recovered items to the family after thorough investigation.”
She advised commercial drivers to desist from dangerous overtaking and making phone calls while driving.
