The Federal Road Safety Corps has denied that its personnels were attacked by a mob in Anambra State for demanding bribe from commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as okada.
The position of the FRSC was contained in a statement by its spokesman, Bisi Kazeem.
Kazeem said the incident in Ichida, Anambra State was that of a commercial motorcyclist who ran into a normal patrol of the FRSC and tried to flee, but fell down.
He said those who were sympathetic to the cause of the okada man then mobilized to attack the FSRC officials.
Kazeem said: “His fall attracted sympathy from miscreants and other okada men who then seized the opportunity to mob the personnel.”
