Bolaji Abdullahi is a reputable reputation manager who can step into the big shoe left by Alhaji Lai Mohammed as the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, Media Development Society, a non-governmental organisation, has said.
In a statement signed by one of its leaders, Chinwendu Chinyere, the group said Abdullahi is a modern image maker who understands the demand of packaging and promoting a political party in power.
The statement said: “We are elated that we have one of us, a professional, in charge of the APC media.
“This is laudable and we urge other political organisations to follow suit.
“When you have a genuine professional in control of a party image apparatus, seamless communication with the media is enhanced.”
The group then called on the new spokesman “to focus on issues rather than personality.
“We expect him to communicate advances his party is recording and avoid image management based on negativity.
“There are a lot of positive things to propagate in the current administration and we think as a seasoned journalist and reputation manager, he should dwell on positivity, especially as the party is now ruling and no longer in opposition.
“We also urge him to learn from his days as a minister.
“He recorded successes and shortcomings then.
“In this return to public life, he should learn from the past and effectively handle the existing challenges professionally.”
