Veteran actor, Lere Paimo, better known as Eda Onile Ola, has given his nod to become the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners.
At a meeting held at Paimo’s Ibadan, Oyo State residence during the week, the association said it resolved to honour the actor because of his immense contributions to the growth of the association.
A statement made available to The Eagle Online confirmed that the visit followed the actor’s acceptance of the position and perusal of the demands of the so-called aggrieved ANTP members bothering on the the disapproval of Ashaolu as the president of the association and the subsequent clean bill of health given to him by a court of law.
It was disclosed that the ANTP elders agreed with the resolutions and decisions taken at the 2014 fourth quadrennial delegates conference of ANTP few weeks back in Ilesa, Osun State ,being a legal and constitutional conference.
The elders also reportedly praised the delegates’ resolutions and decisions regarding the litigation period as crises and transition period, thereby giving the elected officers the opportunity to complete their term in July 2018.
