Mainz of Germany defender, Leon Balogun has been ruled out of Super
Eagles AFCON 2017 qualifying tie against the Taifas Stars of Tanzania
in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
The right back, who broke his ankle on Wednesday in Super Eagles tune
up game, missed the team’s final training session at the Tanzania
National Stadium on Friday.
Balogun’s injury has also added to the Super Eagles new handler,
Sunday Oliseh’s worries after the team’s skipper Vincent Enyeama
excused himself from national team to attend to family issue.
It can be recalled that Balogun cut an injury on his national team debut
against Mexico. The Nigerian-German defender collided with the pitch
panel on the touchline. He fractured his foot and was out for three
months after surgery.
