The decaying corpse of kidnapped Rev. Father John Adeyi was on Wednesday found in Otukpa, Benue State as police and villagers besieged the back of the Local Government secretariat where the body was dumped by his suspected abductors.
Two months ago, Father Adeyi, the vicar general of the Otukpo Catholic Diocese, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen but was never released despite the payment of N2 million as ransom.
He was never found even though the Benue State Government made an offer of N5 Million to anyone who could supply information on his whereabouts until his body was discovered at the back of the LGA Secretariat at Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Benue State, ASP Moses Yamo, confirmed the story, saying police would do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to book.
