No fewer than 200 eminent personalities, leaders of corporate Nigeria and other distinguished guests will converge at the 2016 Annual Directors Dinner of the Institute of Directors Nigeria, which takes place on December 1, 2016 at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, is the Special Guest of Honour, while Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu, a renowned economist and former Federal Minister of Finance, is the Guest Speaker.
According to the Acting Director-General/CEO of the Institute, the Annual Directors Dinner is usually a black tie event, an evening of fine dining, networking and honouring.
However, the 2016 edition is unique in many ways and attracts more eminent personalities than ever before, with three royal fathers from the country’s three main regions to be honoured.
The royal fathers to be honoured at the Institute’s 2016 Annual Directors Dinner are the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II; His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II; and His Majesty, Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe.
They are being inducted into the Institute’s Hall of Fellows.
Individual awardees of the evening include former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Gregory Obi, who bags the Good Governance Award; Leo Stan Eke of Zinox Computers, the Entrepreneurial Award; Bob Newsome, formerly of PCW, Director Development; and Mallam Abdullahi Ibrahim Leadership and Excellence.
Omobola Johnson, former Federal Minister of ICT, bags the Outstanding Women Director Award, while the Nigerian Breweries Plc goes home with the Corporate Governance Award.
