Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has described the election of Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, as President of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries as well deserved.
Kalu noted that Alison-Madueke’s election is an acknowledgement of her positive contributions to the international oil body while she held sway as Alternate President.
Kalu, in a goodwill message signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, said: “It is with joy that I felicitate with you on your recent election as the first female President of OPEC.
“Your election is a testimony not only to your expertise but also the aggressive innovations you have continued to pursue in the oil and gas industry.
“It is indeed, a very well-deserved honour!
“I wish you the best as you steer the ship of the international oil body.”
