A Kaduna State pilgrim, Malam Musa Adeniyi, died on Thursday in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Malam Yunusa Abdullahi, the spokesman of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, told newsmen in Mecca that the deceased died of cardiac arrest.
Abdullahi said the family of the deceased had been notified.
He prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and for the family to have the fortitude to bear the loss.
He said Musa Adeniyi, who is from Lagos State, registered for the trip to the Holy Land in Kaduna.
According to Abdullahi, the deceased was accompanied by one of his wives, Taibat Adeniyi.
The wife said she received the sad news of her husband’s death in the early hour of Thursday.
Taibat said: “II was taken to go and see his corpse and also to pray for him, and doctors confirmed that he was already dead.”
She said that the deceased left behind three wives and 16 children.
