The result of the presidential election in Plateau State has been released by the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Plateau State, Godwin Kwanga.
Announcing the result, the Returning Officer for the presidential election in Plateau State and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha, said the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, defeated his main challenger and All Progressives Congress candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Kucha said while the APC had 429,140 votes, the PDP came out of the election with 549,612 votes.
The result also had it that the PDP also cleared the three senatorial zones in Plateau State.
While Senator Joshua Dariye won PlateauCentral Senatorial District with 189,150 votes, General Jeremiah Useni polled 126,154 votes to emerge the winner of the Senate seat for southern senatorial zone and GovernorJonah Jang scored 234,455 to emerge winner for the northern zone.
