The former Chairman Independent National Electoral commission (INEC),
Prof.Attahiru Jega has sought the cooperation of Plateau state
government in repositioning the State University ,Bokkos for
empowerment of educational sector .
Jega, who is the pro-chancellor Chairman the Plateau State University
assured of his committee readiness in revitalizing the falling
standard of education and staff welfare which is a task to be
discharge effectively for the growth of the institution.
He made the call during the swearing-in ceremony of the governing
board held at Government House little Rayfield, Jos.
He said, “it is with a great pleasure for this honour, nevertheless,
I promise to do my very best to change the deplorable state of
infrastructural needs of the students and the staff of Plateau state
university, Bokkos for people of the state to benefit from it”.
He thanked the government and the good people of Plateau for finding
him worthy to serve them in this capacity.
According to him, the Plateau state permanent site was founded on
solid has been undermined by many challenges, canvassing the support
of host community that within shortest period the committee will
surmount the pressure.
Prof Jega assured Governor Simon Lalong that within a reasonable time
frame the institution will overcome the challenges to become one of
the best in the country.
The former INEC boss called for understanding to allow the Vice
Chancellor simultaneously address numerous problems of the staff,
students and administrative need.
Speaking, Governor Simon Lalong said, the University has no business
remaining without accreditation
