The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State, Senator G.N.S. Pwajok, says he will step up the level of engagement and the involvement of Benue State communities in the administration of Plateau State if elected the governor.
Pwajok made this commitment on Sunday night in Jos, the Plateau State capital, during an interactive session with the Benue State communities based in the state.
They were made up of the Tiv, Idoma and Igede.
Pwajok canvassed for their votes and support in the forthcoming general elections to enable him continue with the good work his mentor, Governor Jonah Jang, has started in the state.
He said Jang’s shoes are too big for him to wear, adding: “Perhaps, we may start looking for companies to start amending the shoes and sandals to fit my legs.”
He said the infrastructure development embarked upon bu Jang, especially road construction that cut across the length and breath of the state, will be very difficult for anybody to beat.
But he promised that as a young man who has worked under Jang as Director of Research and Documentation as well as the Chief of Staff in the Government House before God has made him to become a senator, he would adopt mechanisms that would make him maintain the standard of Jang’s legacies.
Pwojok said he dearly holds the Benue State communities in high esteem in view of the fact that they have lived together as one family since the days of Benue-Plateau State and that they have remain one of the most peaceful communities contributing positively to the growth of the state without rancour and acrimony.
