The Chairman of the Plateau State chapter of the Nigeria Computer Society, Silas Vem, has advised youths to key into the fast growing information technology age in order to meet up with ICT in wealth creation.
Vem made this call during a one-day sensitization programme for Plateau State youths in the area of ICT.
He also called on citizens of the country to take advantage of technological development to create opportunities to address the challenges recession has created.
He said the major focus of the Governor Simon Lalong-led administration is to mobilize the mandate of advanced development ICT on the Plateau for citizens to compete with other world experts.
Vem said that this is an amazing opportunity most young ones are looking forward to.
He aid the aim of the group is to stimulate the interest of the youths and expose them.
Speaking to journalists at the main campus of the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, Daniel Dung Dalyop encouraged private and public sector investors in the state to key into the ICT age.
Dalyop said the e-government refers to the use of internet technology as a platform for exchange of information, providing services and transaction with citizens, business and other arms of government.
Dalyop: “We ensure the successful implementation of customers project by maintaining the balance in various aspects, which can affect the project, such as the suggestion of best available options.”
He added that the Governor Lalong-led administration took a bold step to partner with mobile development solution providers to boost the income of youth in the state.
He said: “The workshop is aimed at exposing the knowledge and potential in developing applications, which can connect communities for easy business transaction.
“Our experts team of technology and business consultants are trying to bring variety of knowledge and skills in addition to our industry in Nigeria and from around the world.”
Dalyop explained that Lalong’s government was poised to provide conducive atmosphere for the private sector to grow regardless of the location of the business in the state.
In his keynote address, Prof. Tanko Ishaya urged the youth to take advantage of technology advancement to improve their lives.
