Home schooling is a commitment by the parents to teach the children to the best of their abilities; information that they would need in the future to live a good and fulfilling life (as much as Allah makes permissible for them).
The first and best teachers to the children are the parents themselves and it’s vital to know that it’s not only a P.H.D holder, master/Bsc degree holder that can teach the child and be the best teacher. The parent teach the wards how to eat and drink (with the right hand) right from their tender age. Thus, if the parent can teach their children this and it remains with the later throughout their lifetime, there is nothing they can’t teach them; particularly under the atmosphere of love and care.
One of the most important thing about home schooling is that the parents themselves should be ready to lay good example for their children; as the later tends to imitate and take after them in their way of life.
A wise parent is he who enjoins his children to Allah’s commandments and abstain them from the forbidden acts i.e impacting proper teachings of Islam to their wards.
Home school gives you an opportunity like a springboard; but it’s something that needs time, patience and a lot of dedication by the parents to their children; most especially the mothers because they’re the first school and tutor of a child.
Conclusively, home school system is part of the culture of Islam and we need to learn this from the history of our righteous companions and great scholars (both men and women), understand and practice it just like they did.
May Allah grant us righteous offspring’s who will be the coolness of our hearts and eyes and make us one to our parents as well.
