A fresh attack on a village in Benue State has left no fewer than 12 persons dead.
The herdsmen attacked the village late on Friday, available information said.
The village attacked has been identified as Tarfi in Buruku Local Government Area.
Specifically, the herdsmen struck at Binnev Ward.
Several persons were also reported injured in the attack carried out at about 11pm.
The invaders were said to have engaged in sporadic shooting, leaving 12 dead and many injured.
The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, has confirmed the attack.
However, Yamu said only five persons have been confirmed dead by the police.
