A former director in the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, Engr Jimmy Zingtim Cheto, has joined Plateau State governorship race, saying he is determined to ensure transparency in the system of governance.
“I am committed to the well being of Plateau state citizens by bringing investors outside the shore of Nigeria if elected as a governor of Plateau state”.
Cheto stated this in an interactive session with correspondents on Monday at his resident in Dandaura road in Tudun wada.
“The purpose why I picked the PDP governorship race in Plateau state is to bring new policy in the agriculture, education and industry sectors”.
The Eagle Online can report that over eight persons have shown interest to contest the 2015 general elections in Plateau state under PDP.
Chetto stated further that the larger number of gubernatorial aspirants under the party isn’t anything of surprise, claiming, “it is a good development which should be applauded and cherished as a pride is only a good and well organized party that can could attract”.
The aspirant assured that every citizens ,young and old, male and female would be accorded desired respect and dignity in the process of this journey saying, he was in the race for second time on the bases of the desire of the people as such ,violence should not be expected in his programmes.
Cheto advised all aspirants in the forthcoming PDP primaries not just gubernatorial but all stages to go back and build confidence in themselves irrespective of the party especially its victory in the forthcoming general elections is a collective responsibility which must not be ignored.
Engr. Cheto had this to say about zoning, “so, for anyone to begin to think of rejecting zoning in Plateau state is undemocratic” saying that if elected, transparency, accountability and fair play would be given topmost priority.
He added that, “I have been in PDP since 2006 and plateau believe in zoning of power, as such, it is high time the power should be zoned to Plateau south.
“I don’t know why people should be afraid of their leaders; we need to provide employment opportunity to the teaming unemployed youth”.
