A minor fire incident was reported on Monday night at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
The incident only affected some parts of the Press Centre in the building popularly called Wadata House, located in Zone 5, Wuse District.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, the fire was caused by some electrical faults around 8.15 pm but was promptly put off.
A terse statement by Metuh reads, “There has been a minor fire incident which affected some parts of the Press Center situated within the premises of the PDP National Secretariat in
Abuja.
“The fire, which was caused by some electrical faults at about 8:15 pm was promptly put off by men of the Federal Fire Service.
“The PDP rules out any form of sabotage or attack and hereby wishes to inform all our members and teaming supporters that the matter has since been put under control.
