The Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity has formally intervened in the strike threat by Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria against the Nigeria Ports Authority over the demand for non-payment of wage arrears to Tally Clerks and on Board Security Gangway men.
The intervention is in line with section 4 and 5 of Trade Dispute Act. T.8 and T.9 laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004.
To this effect, a meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, 9th July, 2015 at the Ministry’s Conference Room.
Accordingly, all parties are to maintain status quo bellum and allow the dispute resolution process to be concluded amicably.
